We hope everyone is healthy and safe. In this post, I will share a phrase that I used in class recently.

Can you answer this question? "How do you unwind on weekends?"

When I asked this question to my students, almost no one could answer. So I asked , "How do you relax on weekends?" And everyone understood.

Unwind is another word for relax.

It is a word that all native speakers know and understood. Here are sample answers (using by and with):

• I unwind by drinking beer.
• I unwind by taking a bath.
• I unwind with my favorite book.
• I unwind with a good movie. 

So, how about you? How do you unwind on weekends?
